Salem District Collector Brindadevi personally inspected the various development projects during a press tour on 12.11.2024.

Development projects worth Rs.284.69 crore have been carried out by the Rural Development Department in Ayodhya patnam and Vazhappadi Panchayat Unions in the last 3 years alone.

Taking place in Ayodhyapatnam Panchayat Union Salem  District Collector  Brinda Devi inspected and informed about the development projects during the press tour.

Salem District, Ayodhyapatnam Panchayat Union Area Salem District Collector Brindadevi personally inspected the various development projects during a press tour on 12.11.2024.

After this inspection, the District collctor told reporters:

Tamilnadu government is implementing various development projects with emphasis on the basic facilities required by the public.

Continuous studies are being carried out to ensure that such projects are made available to the public in a timely and quality manner.

169.16cr in Salem District, Ayodhyapatnam Panchayat Union through various schemes including Chief Minister's Village Roads Development Scheme, kalaizhnar Dream House, Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme, All Gram Anna Revival Scheme, Schools Infrastructure Scheme, NABARD Scheme through District Rural Development Agency in last 3 years. 5,475 projects worth crores have been taken up and 3,796 projects have been completed.

Remaining 1,679 works are in progress. Also, 4,490 projects worth Rs.115.53 crore have been taken up and 2,955 projects have been completed in Vazhapadi Panchayat Union. Remaining 1,535 works are in progress.

In this way, today Ayodhyapatnam Panchayat Union, Valasaiyur Panchayat, under the Kalaizhnar dream house project, the houses are being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.3.10 lakh each, and the concerned officials were instructed to complete the work in a quality manner and in due time and put it into use.

Following this, the renovation works being carried out at an estimated cost of Rs.16.20 lakhs in the Union Primary School of Sukkampatti Panchayat under the Schools Infrastructure Development Project and the repair work of houses under the Rural House Repair Project in Sukkampatti Panchayat were carried out in person.

Similarly, under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the newly constructed Panchayat office building at the cost of Rs. 27.50 lakhs for Achankuttapatti panchayat, the construction of a 100 meter perimeter wall at the cost of Rs. 10 lakhs for Achan kuttapatti Panchayat Union Primary School, and the work of constructing a perimeter wall at a cost of Rs. 22 lakhs for Vellalagundam panchayat. It has been advised to personally inspect the ongoing construction work of the library building and complete the work quickly.

Also, construction of houses at the cost of Rs. 3.10 lakhs under the kalaizhnar Dream House project in Vellalagundam panchayat and the construction of a new pond at the cost of Rs. 2 lakhs under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. A review of projects was carried out.

Regarding Vazhappadi Panchayat Union, house construction works are being carried out at the cost of Rs.3.50 lakh each in Ponnarambatti, Tukkiyampalayam and Kurichi panchayats under the Artist Dream House Scheme, and under the Rural House Repair Scheme, house repair work is being carried out at the cost of Rs.1.97 lakh in Ponnarampatti Panchayat.

Also, under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Ponnarambatti panchayat, construction of a new pond at an estimated cost of Rs.11.60 lakhs, two new classroom buildings at an estimated cost of Rs.32.80 lakhs each for Panchayat Union Primary School in Ponnarambatti and Belur under the schools infrastructure development project is underway.

Similarly, under the NABARD project, construction of an overhead reservoir tank with a capacity of 30,000 liters at a cost of Rs. 18.42 lakhs is being carried out in total development projects worth Rs. 1.19 crores in Vazhapadi panchayat union areas.

The concerned officers have been instructed during this inspection to complete all these works with quality and in due time for public use.Thus the District Collctor Dr. Ira. Brindadevi told reporters.
