76 Anniversary of the Death of Sarojini Naidu Today (13/02/2025) marks the 76th anniversary of the death of the Indian independence activist, poet, and politician, Sarojini Naidu. Born in 1879 to a Bengali family in Hyderabad (present day India), Naidu was academically gifted from a young age. After passing her matriculation examination with flying colours at the mere age of twelve, she attended King’s College London and Girton College at the University of Cambridge between the years 1895 and 1898.  During her time in England she became a suffragist and was exposed to ideas of liberty, democracy, and nationalism through her interactions with British and the Indian intellectuals residing in the country.  This experience awakened her political consciousness and laid the groundwork for her future work. Supreme court hints that it may decide on repugnancy of Tamil Nadu bills

The top court was hearing the petitions filed by Tamil Nadu against the governor for sitting on bills passed by the state legislature. (File photo | ANI) NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday once again questioned Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi for withholding assent to bills and said if he felt the bills are repugnant to the central laws, then why has he not told the state government about it immediately? “If repugnancy troubled the governor, he should have immediately brought it to the notice of the government, and the state government could have reconsidered the bills for further go ahead,” observed the two-judge bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan.  Iskander Missile Strike Kills Danish F-16 Pilot in Ukraine - Reports.  Danish pilot and F-16 fighter instructor Jepp Hansen was reported killed in a missile strike on a Ukrainian Armed Forces training centre in Krivoy Rog in central Ukraine’s Dnepropetrovsk Region, according to Russian sources.  Hansen had significant experience operating the F-16, and had reportedly helped to train dozens of Ukrainian personnel.
