Credit assistance is provided to livestock breeders through Kisan Credit Card in Salem District.

This was stated by the District Collector Karmegam

 Under the Kisan Credit Card Scheme in Salem District, the target is to provide low interest loans to 12,840 farmers who are engaged in agro-based livestock.
Low interest rate loans are provided to farmers through cooperative and leading banks.  Loans up to Rs. 3.00 lakhs are provided to farmers under the Kisan Credit Card Scheme.

Currently the scheme is being expanded to include the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy and FisheriesUnder the Kisan scheme, loans up to Rs. 2.00 lakhs at low interest rates will be provided to agro-based livestock farmers.
Livestock breeders interested in availing the Kisan Credit Card Scheme should obtain and fill up the application form at the nearest veterinary dispensary along with copies of their Aadhar Card, Front Copy of Bank Account Book, 2 Number of Passport Size Photos, Number of Land Documents.
Eligible applications will be considered by the banks and eligible candidates Action will be taken to provide the loan amount at the prescribed interest.
